Daniel Nelson, Ph.D., is a Lead Technology Development Engineer at Flowserve Corporation where he serves as the Simulation and Modeling Subject Matter Expert for the Aftermarket Services and Solutions Division. His work includes defining strategy and processes for developing physics-based models, condition health monitoring systems and predictive analytics for mechanical seals and pumps. Additionally, Dr. Nelson is a lecturer of fluid dynamics and aerospace propulsion systems at San Diego State University. Dr. Nelson received his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from San Diego State University, where he studied high-order spectral element methods and non-linear dynamics.
